Thankful Thursday – Awesomeness and Comfort zones

Thankful Thursday | Slightly Off KilterThis has been another busy week in my world.  Every night this week has been something occupying my attention and I feel blessed first and foremost to have so many in my world that make it awesome.  This week’s list is slightly less vague because I’m feeling wordy… well, there’s still a smattering of vaguity.  Is that a word?  It is now.

  • Planning for summer vacation…
  • Nathan Fillion playing in the Cardio Cinema at the Gym.  I mean if I’m gonna “run” I might as well run towards something yummy… like cupcakes or wine or Nathan Fillion.

  • Perfect Moments
  • Opportunities to spend time with my friend Helen.  We don’t get together as much as I’d like and quite frankly, she’s all kinds of amazing.  Head on over to check out her thankful list as well!
  • Good morning texts.
  • Captain America.  I know it doesn’t officially open until tomorrow so you’ll have to wait until then to see my thoughts but… yes.  A thousand times yes.

  • Having a friend who insists (twist my arm) that I watch the FIRST Captain America before seeing Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  • Cribbage and Scrabble (or Words with Friends… whatever) BTW – if you play WWF, my username is Momma_oz.  Shocking.  I know.
  • Camping.  I really want to take another camping trip and there are so many gorgeous places around Texas.  Not sure it will happen before the weather turns hellish, but there’s always the fall.  There are some amazing places I want to go with my camera to explore.
  • Pinterest.  Which fuels my planning for future getaways and projects.
  • Chocolate.  AND the fact that there is a SEE’S CANDY Opening in Austin. Stay tuned for more info on THAT as well, but know that THIS is my all time absolute favorite chocolatier in the history of ever.
  • Stepping out of my comfort zone.  A good friend inspired me to take a few risks this week – not risks really, but stepping out of my comfort zone feels like a risk sometimes and I’m really grateful that she did.
  • The strength to walk away from things that don’t work and never did.
  • “Aha moments” that provide clarity and peace.
  • Yarn… and friends who donate from their stash for the Hookers with Heart Projects.
  • Flip Flop Weather
  • Flexible schedules at work
  • Finding out that completing a goal is closer than you think.
  • Confidence to tackle said goal.
  • Coffee.  Always Coffee.

Like I said, a busy week.  So much going on and so much time with friends I don’t see nearly enough (can you EVER see friends enough?  I think not).  Ironically, this week has been full of time with friends I don’t see very often and nothing planned with my normal cohorts…and the fact that I feel surrounded by awesome people who make me want to be a better person is something I will not ever take for granted.

News flash – if you are reading this, you are part of the awesome.

  3. You are sweet. That movie was SO good. And walking out of the theater to a surprise visit had me smiling the entire way home. I don’t think he gets how much that meant to me. Enjoy the chocolate- I can’t wait to hear about it!
