#Mamavation Monday – 4-4-2011

This past week started off FANTASTIC… then took a HUGE nose-dive on Wednesday.  I’ve been battleing some “parenting challenges” that are compounded by “ex challenges” and I’ve been reminded far too often that Ex’s are Ex’s for a reason.

I did manage to workout 6/7 days this week.  Mostly training for my upcoming 5K and my 1/2 marathon.

I was NOWHERE NEAR eating right the later half of the week.  I’m not beating myself up over it – I’m recognizing where I am so that I can make the necessary changes.

This past weekend I completely unplugged.  If I missed a tweet or text or skype or Facebook message, I’m sorry… I HAD to spend some quality time with the kiddos and recharge my own batteries.  After all, we are all a LOT of things – but we are (for many of us) moms first and foremost.

Now I’m recharged and rejuvinated and ready to attack this week hard!

Sorry for the short post, but I’m just ready to move forward and not dwell on what didn’t work last week.  Love you all!

Have a GREAT WEEK!

Oh let’s not talk about sweating along the way while working on this, let’s just have some fun!! so it won’t feel so heavy. Let’s make this a pleasant hobby at the same time aiming for a big bucks. It’s good your on your feet again.

  3. I hope whatever that was disrupting life has passed. Great job, just continue your training.

  4. So proud of your focus on your upcoming races!

  5. I’m glad unplugging helped and that you were able to spend some extra time with your loved ones; such is always nice! | 😛

  6. I envy you girl! I just stop jogging 2K twice a week after I got fully loaded with work. But you really got the determination to go on with your daily exercise. I’d better make good time management with my activities to be back on jogging again.

Keep up the good work! Go in the right path.. Looking forward on your next updates!

  8. I think it is good to shut it off every once in a while, especially for the family. It always makes coming back to the internet so refreshing too.

  9. Great thing you do that, me i can’t. Thanks 🙂

  10. Wohoo, a runner! Great thing you can handle unplugging. Some can’t do that.

  11. I’m so proud of you for training for a 5K!! wait, half marathon! Both? Glad you got to spend some time with your family!! Love you.

  12. Hate it when life throws crap at us. Hoping there is less of it this. So proud of your focus on your upcoming races! I’ve got a 5k this Saturday – #3!

I first learned the importance of unplugging when I went on a vacation and we were so far up in altitude I realized my phone wouldn’t work there. And then I started crying – realizing I would be forced to not allow anyone to “ruin” my trip! Best vacation ever… I make sure to recharge my batteries as often as needed or I’m not being a good mom (in my opinion). It is short & sweet sometimes!

    • I know… it’s an odd feeling when you are unplugged – at first – then everything comes full circle 🙂

    Hi Shelly!

Thank you for your comment on my wall — you are the first person to do so! I was so excited to see someone leave a comment for me! Thank you!!

I’m still a bit lost in the whole bookieboo world and trying to navigate/explore the site when I get the time. But I love, love the site, and will definitely reach out more to other community members, start discussions, and INTRODUCE MYSELF — haven’t done that yet! As you said, we wear many “hats” so now I’m adding bookieboo, and blogging into my life and still trying to figure out how to manage/balance my life 🙂 I know all about unplugging too… And oooohhh, how I feel you on the “parenting challenges.”

I’m glad that you are feeling rejuvinated and recharged! Wishing you a fantastic rest of the week!!!

    • please let me know if I can help you navigate through bookieboo 🙂 I’m here to help in any way 🙂

  15. Have a much better week. I hope whatever that was disrupting life has passed. Great job continuing your training.

    • it is already shaping up to be better – focus is so important but sometimes I have to unplug to clear the clutter

  16. I’m right there with you on the whole ex thing. *hugs*
I’m glad unplugging helped and that you were able to spend some extra time with your loved ones; such is always nice!

I hope this week is a better one, with less ex appearances.

  17. I think it is good to shut it off every once in a while, especially for the family. It always makes coming back to the internet so refreshing too. You are doing great with those workout, keep it up. I hope you will be doing the MILI challenge with us. Good luck on your two marathons coming up too. 🙂 Way to go.

    • As a graduate, I’m not “oficially” in the MILI Challenge but I’m still aiming for my goals so I’ll be getting my sweat on right along with you!
