Thankful Thursday

Do you ever notice yourself complaining about your circumstances?  I do occasionally and am thankful when I snap out of it and start remembering all I have to be thankful for.

For example, I could complain about my job… or I could be thankful that I’m employed.

I could complain about the muggy weather… or I could be thankful that I’m not one of the victims of the tsunami in Japan

I could complain about rising gas prices… or… well, I’m not ready to give that one up yet…

But I digress.

The point is that when we really look at our lives, we ALL have a lot to be thankful for so I’m asking you, my friends and loyal readers, to share your blessings.

I was recently told a story from a friend of mine who’s friend was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and is without insurance.  That in and of itself is a lot to shoulder, but to add insult to injury, he’s also being turned away from hospitals and being refused treatment because of his lack of insurance.  Obviously there are resources available and those are being pursued, but that takes time… and time, in this case, is NOT our friend.

I was moved by this as I looked at all of my blessings and felt compelled to help.  My darling friend Greta over at Middle Aged Jock is hosting a fundraiser and could use ALL of our help.

How can you help?  GREAT question!

You can donate your Time, Talent, or Treasure to a VERY worthy cause.

Time: How many ways can you spread the word to ensure that as many people as possible know about this fundraiser?

Talent: What can you do for someone that might be suited for a fundraiser of this nature?  Are you crafty?  Are you a web-guru? Do you design T-shirts or scrapbooks?  Everyone can do something – you might have a perfect product or service that could be included with this project!

Treasure: Monetary donations will be greatly appreciated and that will be how you can enter to win some of the great products and services already being supplied.

So think about it my friends, and tell your friends.  How can you donate your Time, Talent or Treasure?
