Schedule time for yourself

It’s Friday and after the last few weeks of constantly burning the candle at both ends, I’ve decided that it is time that I focus on some ‘me’ time.  Please don’t misunderstand -I LOVE MY LIFE but sometimes it’s hard to remember to take time for me.

That’s hard to do but just like exercising if you don’t schedule it, how can you lay blame when you don’t get it. This weekend, the boys are with their dad so it seems like the perfect time to recharge my batteries.

In addition to homework that needs to be done and exercise that is already on the calendar, here are a few of the things I plan to do for me:

(1)   Work on this blog -  I love that I have this venue for me but it’s not 100% the way I want it.  I’ve been so busy that I haven’t taken the time to really get it the way I want and that is on the agenda

(2)   Create my playlist -  I have an iPhone that I use as my iPod.  The problem is that I have lots of songs on it so makes for really nice shuffle when I’m in the car, but for my workouts, not so much.  I tend to REALLY like slow, romantic, lyrical tunes and on my last shuffle, that’s all that played.  I’m going to focus on building a killer, inspirational, fun and upbeat playlist between the songs I already have, my DH’s music selections, and iTunes.

(3)   Clean the house -  Ok, this one sounds like the daily grind for some, but I’ve been so busy that there are a number of things that I’ve been ignoring.  When your house is in order, your life is in order and right now, both are in a bit of chaos.

That’s it – for now and of course I reserve the right to change things up a bit.  I’m sure there will be a bubble bath in there too where I can catch up on some “fun” reading – you know the kind not required for work or school.  I picked up the book PUSH by Sapphire after seeing the movie Precious and when I got it, I thought I’d be able to get through it in no time… that was 3 months ago and I’m still only ½ way through.

What’s on your list this weekend?
