You know how some Mondays you wake up and know it’s gonna be an AWESOME day… and then there are those other Mondays when you wake up and wish you could find a reset button? Today is somewhere in between for me.
I had a GREAT weekend. Tons of time with Evin over at Food Good Laundry Bad and her littles on Saturday. We hit up the Dollar Store and even did matching Manicures with a Halloween theme…
And then there was the photoshoot with Megan over at Mean Baby™ that almost didn’t happen because Sunday was off to such a rocky start (more on that later)… and SPEAKING of Mean Baby™, Holy CRAP – I absolutely LOVE the first birthday party theme! How cute is this?
If you know me AT ALL, you know that I boycott most birthday parties. Seriously. Birthdays with the kids have been about a nice family dinner, a homemade cake and presents. Period. End of Story. But had I actually been invited to birthdays like THIS ONE? I might have a different opinion altogether.
Wait… what was I saying? Oh yeah!
But Today is Monday. The start to a new week. Fresh, albeit cold beginnings. New beginnings are awesome.
My heart is heavy with worry for my loved ones on the coast… Hurricane Sandy, Frankenstorm, whatever you want to call it, it’s EPIC… and not in a good way. The image in my mind of the AMAZING time I had in New York at Times Square with Wendy from the Weight is Over a few short months back contradicts the images that play on my TV screen of the ghost town that it is now. Times Square a Ghost town? It doesn’t fit. The Air Force Base where my dear friend Shannon from Aries Mommy resides, is absent of planes… all in preparation of the devastation that is coming. Her words summed it up best when I checked in with her earlier today
“Trying to get things done before we lose power. I’m going on a when not if when it comes to electricity”
My heart is with anyone and everyone affected and we wait for the storm to pass. Here in the ATX, we are snuggling up and reveling in the cooler temperatures… and yes, I feel a little guilty about rejoicing about our weather…
For over a hundred people, today is another kind of new beginning as they start the latest 2 week challenge with Mamavation and Bob Harper. I love seeing so many people involved and will continue to cheer them on!
Today also begins week 2 of the Mamavation Mom Grad Campaign… you’ll have to wait until Wednesday to see how Team Pony Girls is doing, but here’s where we started.
I kinda love the fact that so many of us are going through the boot camp together. And I ALSO love that so many have come up with Catchy Team Names! The other teams involved are the Girls on Fire, Workouts 4 Wine and the A team. Everyone is doing so AWESOME and it’s interesting to see how different the struggles are the second time around… at least for me.
Oh yeah – and tonight, I’m Hosting Mamavation TV! So you KNOW you wanna join us for that! (7pm PST/10pm EST) I’m kinda jazzed to be on the “big-ish screen” again and we will be discussing GMOs and what we can do about them with our special guest Ashley Koff, RD (@AshleyKoff). While on the subject about GMOs – I kinda totally loved this Open Letter to GMO Companies. **disclosure – the gal behind this post is one of my BFFs so yes, I’m partial, but yes it’s hilarious**
Halloween is this week too – you know, in case you forgot… I totally LOVED the costume my youngest and I came up with and think he’s the cutest scarecrow ever. We won’t be handing out traditional candy this year, instead, we are unjunking halloween with Unreal Candy.
Other week plans include some fun with kiddos this weekend, and perhaps even a *gasp* date on Sunday! I know… shocking, right?
This post is sponsored by Omron Fitness and hosted by Mamavation – a community dedicated to obesity prevention & weight loss for women and I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway” at the bottom of your post
Love the nails. Also I really want to spend a day with you to see how you do it all, girl, you are like superwoman… Hugs
Thank you for all you do for Mamavation! I know that you ladies are going to rock this Mamavation Campaign. Also, thank you for changing my life for the better by creating the word “texticle.”
I have a fairly random question that you may be able to help me with. I’m trying to help a couple of our Scoutmasters who need to lose a lot of weight for next year’s Scout Jamboree. They have to meet very strict BMI requirements or they won’t be allowed to attend the Jamboree. I guess we’ve had a few SM’s who have had heart attacks and other problems because it’s such a strenuous environment.
I want to do a Biggest Loser type competition so the boys can cheer them on and encourage them, but I don’t know how to set it up. How do you calculate progress when you have several people with varying amounts to lose? I’m thinking a percentage of weight lost rather than pounds, but how do you make it fair when one person might have 60 pounds and another might only have 30 pounds? Do you base it on a percentage of their total weight, or a percentage of how much they need to lose?
Any help would be SO appreciated. You can send info to Adrianscrazylife at gmail.com.
I’ll send an email as well, but yes, With the Mamavation Campaign, we talk in terms of % of weight loss as opposed to pounds to level the field a bit. you can follow along on our progress over at http://www.mamavation.com
Busy lady you are. I honestly have no idea how you manage to keep on top of everything.
I can’t wait to see you on “t.v.” tonight!
I am making every effort to be at the show tonight! I may have to have some coffee late at night, but I will hopefully be awake for it!
I am sick over thinking of the storm coming too….. I know it’s bad when parts of Kentucky are calling for snow in October!
The part that is making me the most concerned is the cold weather plus no power!
Have a great week and I know you will do amazing in the grad campaign!
I’m so excited for you hosting Mamavation TV tonight! This is going to be a great week…I feel it in mah bones!
Looking forward to mamavation TV tonight!
