Inside my purse – With Pictures

When Evin suggested this prompt a month ago, I really liked it.

Then I looked at my purse.

For starters, let it be known that on an average day, I don’t carry a purse. But by golly, I’ll be darned if I don’t try to cram everything in that I MIGHT need. I’ve had people tell me that I need a bigger purse. No. That just gives me the freedom to cram more shit in. Been there. Done that.

So this morning, before actually getting started on real work, I took the opportunity to clean out my purse and share the contents with you.

I’m totally making Evin repeat this exercise when she gets back online with a lappy.

Here’s the contents in all it’s splendor:

Ahh yes. a few pennies that escaped the wallet, a paperclip, hairbrush, ear buds…. the normal things you might expecct to find in any woman’s purse.

but let’s look a bit closer…

The book I’m reading. And don’t tell me about the Kindle app for my phone. I HAVE the Kindle App on my phone. but there is something magical about having a BOOK. The smell of the pages, the feel of it in my hands, the way I don’t get distracted by notifications when I’m reading.

In addition to my book, you see a ticket stub from a movie I went to go see with a friend… a few weeks back? It was great, but I’m not sure why I still have the stub. I’m sentimental but it just hasn’t been disposed of. You also see the 3D glasses… but not from Wednesday’s screening of Maleficent. {Movie review will be posted later this afternoon FYI – come back for that.} Nope. I recycled those when I left Wednesday night and remember that distinctly… no clue which movie those are reminiscent of.

That random key? I have no clue what that goes to… I’m sure it’s important though. Wish I had a remembrall.

A bag of pistachios. Those are a recent addition. It’s a late swim practice night and momma needs an extra snack so I don’t get too hangry.

7 Nail Polish… and a clear coat. Yep. You never know when you are going to need an Emergency Mani. Don’t judge.

5 different shades of Lipstick… for the girl that rarely, if ever, actually WEARS lipstick. I’m as baffled as you are why they take space… but the 6 tubes of lip balm? Those are important. The boys are always losing theirs and along with all of my other great characteristics, they inherited my propensity for chapped lips.

Need a pen? How about a Sharpie? Child Sized scissors? Hey… you never know.

Of course there’s a gum wrapper and random receipt. Along with a packet of Sonic Mustard and salt. Wonder how THOSE got in there…

As for what’s NOT pictured that I always have with me… My phone. But anyone who knows me knows that I don’t carry my phone in my purse. It’s in my hand. A Lot.

My Shades. Because those reside permanently on the top of my head… holding my hair back. Duh.
