Day 1, Wednesday: The story of your life in 250 words or less
I decided to take part in a blogging challenge hosted over at the Story of My Life blog and today was asked for the story of my life in 250 words or less… clearly Jenni doesn’t know me at all. It will probably take me twice as long to edit this post to knock it down to 250 words than it will to write the darn thing.
Here goes:
Once upon a time in a far away land known as Odessa, two people adopted a child who would turn their lives upside down and not necessarily in a good way. Then they adopted me. I like to think I balanced things out for them.
Fast forward a few years…
In school I was a bookworm… and a dancer… and kinda a bitch. Luckily I still have friends who put up with my shit even now. I question their sanity but am grateful for them nonetheless.
Went to college… learned how to party… had a GPA that read more like a blood alcohol content… dropped out of college.
Good times.
Got married. Produced two amazing boys who will always be my greatest accomplishment.
Got Divorced.
Good times.
Continued to try to figure out what I wanted to be when I grow up and began a career in sales.
Got married… again. (I’m kind of an optimist)
Discovered blogging… where people you’ve never met, read your stuff as if it were important.
Got Divorced. Again. (I’m not bitter.)
Discovered an amazing tribe of fellow moms and bloggers (and no, the two don’t necessarily have anything to do with each other) who show me strength and beauty every stinkin day. I’m proud to call them friends.
Most importantly, I’m learning more about me every day. Things that make me a better mom, friend, daughter, person.
It’s a crazy ride my life… but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Thanks for dropping by my site! Had to check out your 250 words or less and have to say…really interesting! 🙂 Isn’t blogging such a fab thing where you get to meet (irl or online) the people who share a real common ground with you!
Those boys are amazing but that’s not surprising because you are, too!
You are my friend and that makes my life better!
<3
Traci
I adore you traci… So very much.
You are SO AWESOME, Shelley!
Question: Did you marry the same guy twice? Or two different fellas?
Two different fellas. I’m an optimist not a masochist.
