This week was a crazy one and honestly I’m glad to see that the scale didn’t go up more than it did. Eating wise, I did ok – skipped all the carbs and even avoided the dreaded office donuts… Where I KNOW I fell short was in the water and exercise department. I made it to the gym on Monday…. and that was it! at least until Saturday when the boys and I went on our little 3.4 mile bike ride from my house to mom’s and back again. I actually feel as though I lost based on how the shorts I’m currently wearing fit so maybe there were inches if not lbs. I will measure tonight and begin tracking that as well.
I keep blaming the lack of exercise on my schedule (and it is a crazy one – just trust me) but the fact of the matter is… exercise is HARD… it’s not fun… I’m tired… I’m outta shape… etc. I could make excuses forever! But then I have to ask myself – is this how I want to feel for the rest of my life? do I want to get winded climbing up one flight of stairs? As I get older, it’s only going to get worse… and I need to start slow – I’m not going to start with triathlon tomorrow or anything although that’s definitely something to build up to. I saw something on twitter that has been running through my head all week… it was a quote: “”A year from now you may wish you had started today.” – Karen Lamb” and I’m sorry I can’t recall who tweeted it, but it is so true!
So – here are the goals for this week:
Goal #1:> Continued focus on making conscious decisions about what I eat and when I eat –
I tend to be an emotional eater, and I don’t just eat when hungry so this continues to be a battle for me… this week was especially hard as emotional I was.
Goal #2:> Fit in 30 min of exercise 3 times a week and at least 1 day of strength training to begin
Goal #3:> Increased water intake — I’m not sure how much water I drink now but I know it is NOT enough and this is something else to be aware of
Congrats to Greta – our SOTW and Comment Warrior! It truly does take a village and I’m extremely jazzed to be a part of this one. Also excited to see all the great leaders stepping up to help us all with our goals. Thanks to Chef’s Requested for sponsoring this week’s blogging carnival. I hadn’t heard of them before now but now I’m on the hunt to see what local stores around here carry them! I hadn’t seen them at Wal-mart but I shall look more closely!
That’s all for now. I Hope all of you have an AWESOME week!!!
Starting Out – 260 lbs
End of Week 1- 253.5 lbs
End of Week 2 – 254.0 lbs
Goal- 180 lbs
Awesome goals for the week! Stay focused on those – you can do it!
A loss is a loss. Celebrate it no matter how big or small. Exercise is very hard but stick with it. If it were easy, no one would appreciate the effort they had to put into transforming themselves. Small steps. The goal is to get your heart rate up and simply moving will do that at first. As you get stronger, you’ll be able to do more and more. You’re doing great. Keep at it, it will get easier if you’re persistent 🙂
Congrats on the weight loss – don’t focus on all the things you didn’t do because you obviously did a lot right!
Hope you have a great week! 😉
Sounds like you’re doing well, the scale is going down.
Your doing great you lost alot in the past 2 weeks! Keep it up. So you werent as active as you wanted to be last week well guess what its a new week and you can start fresh! Good luck on your goals this week!
I understand the crazy schedule and trying to find time to exercise. School has been such a crazy change to my life because my husband, myself, and my son started back. Schedules go until 9pm M-W and I’m often too tired to workout 🙁
Hope you get adjusted in your crazy schedule soon 🙂
Have a great week
My Tuesdays and Wednesdays last till 11:00pm but at least it’s only 2 days a week!
wow you’ve lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks! you rock! for the 30 min 3X a week, even a walk is exercise! take a half hour 3x this week take a walk and clear your head. I’m also an emotional eater. It’s difficult to break that habit. Working on it. I think realizing you do it is the first step though.
Thanks for the shout out! Have you considered applying to be a Mamavation Mom?
Congrats darling on the weight loss! You are doing simply fantastic. Details aren’t important…don’t be hard on yourself. Loss is loss. XXOO
Half a pound is nothing, if you’re not drinking water, your body’s trying to hold on to what it can. Keep up with your fluid (water) intake and you’ll see that half pound come right off. I have a water bottle that I sip out of all day and keep refilling. My goal is to get through at least 2 of them (it’s a 32 oz water bottle) but aim for 3. If you can’t stand water, try adding a flavor packet or something, I really love the Benefiber Pomagrante Cherry ones, one packet picks up my 32 oz.
Good luck! You can do it!
I LOVE the Benefiber Pomagrante Cherry too! Thanks for the reminder!
Head up! You can do this momma!
