#Mamavation Monday – Lot’s of changes (and Challenges)

This week can be a bit stressful and scary for some – those that were selected, now are kicking it into high gear to get the votes they need to secure one of 2 spots as an official Mamavation Mom and to get guidance  by such great influences as Tracey Mallett (@tracey_Mallett),  Alysa (@inspiredRD), and Pete Cohen (@pete_cohen).  They will receive support from our sponsors Earth Footwear (@earthfootwear), Chef’s Requested (@chefsrequested), EA Sports Active (@easactivegirl), and Orville Redenbacher.  They will receive tremendous support from their Mentors Amanda (@beeacutie2) and Kimberly (@christlikemommy) who have just completed their reign as Mamavation Moms.  And Most of all, they will receive direct leadership from our fearless leader, Leah.

Yes, it can be a stressful week for the finalists.

It can also be a stressful week for the applicants who are kicking off the MILI contest.  I highly encourage you to keep up with the hazing and push through so that you continue to fight for your goals.  I also want you to know that each and every Mamavation Mom this campaign (and the one before… and the one before that…) will be or has already been keeping a daily journal on bookieboo.com.

What does that mean for you?  That means that you get to see what great nutrition plans Alysa has provided, and what fitness schedules the Boot-camp entails.

That means that you TOO can kick start your healthy living lifestyle by following along!

Speaking of daily journaling… I’ve gotten out of the habit… and it’s SOOOO worth it to daily journal… and I see results when I daily journal… and yet, this week I was a slacker.  Today is another chance to start again.

Believe it or not, it can also be a stressful week for the rest of us Sistas in Mamavation as we deliberate about who to vote for. For those of us who have been around a while, we want to make sure that we recognize someone who, in our opinion, has shown that they have what it takes to make it through the campaign  and will stick around for the campaigns to come.

We want to make sure that whomever we vote for has the support needed because TRUST ME when I say that NOTHING will prepare you for the intensity of the campaign.  And I say that in a good way!  For me it was the hardest and BEST thing I’ve ever done.  So, to those of us casting our votes, I encourage you to follow your heart when voting.  To help, I’ll be featuring each of the finalists on my blog this week – take a minute to re-watch their videos, get to know them again, maybe see a side of them that you haven’t seen before.

Now, on to me.

The MOST exciting thing happened yesterday – in case you missed it on twitter –

I GOT A TREADMILL!  My SIL saw my blog post about wanting a treadmill and has GRACIOUSLY offered to loan hers to me indefinitely – with the stipulation that if I ever decide to get rid of it,  She wants it back.  This is a key point because the Hubs has been known to buy and sell like crazy on Craig’s List and Garage Sales, so it’s kind of a running joke… but we’re serious…

I broke it in last night because I could NOT WAIT to use it! And even got the Hubs on it for a short walk.  This treadmill means so much because as you may have heard, I also committed to running a HALF MARATHON with Lori @guitmom.

And as if that wasn’t enough change in my world, I’m also now officially a Scentsy Consultant and am SUPER Jazzed about that!

Lots and lots of changes… except here.

But that’s ok!  I have my Running Training plan in place.  I have my meals planned out.  I’m back on the daily journaling bandwagon (and btw – you don’t have to be a Mamavation Mom to journal daily!  There are a few people I FULLY expect to see posts from starting TONIGHT!) and all of the goals I have set for myself WILL BE ACHIEVED!

I have a new sense of inspiration and I’m READY!

How about you?  What are your plans?  Or, as posed by the question for this week’s blogging carnival, sponsored by Earth Footwear

Where will your feet take you this year? Any plans for a big hike, race, or just a lot of walking?

Let me know so I can help SUPPORT YOU!

ALSO – I just got this via email at work and while I have NO CLUE it’s origination, I HAD to share! Enjoy!

‘Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she’ll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she’ll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she’ll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she’ll give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit.’

  1. You got a treadmill?!? Oh my gosh! I’m so excited and envious and stuff all at once. You’re going to kick some major butt (and not mine..ok mine too but that’s not what I mean and now I’m rambling so I’m going to stop.)!

    • First you have to take care of that knee girly! then the MAJOR butt-kicking can begin 🙂 – and um… I love your ramblings 🙂

  2. So happy to see you with a treadmill! Now we just need to find one for Rachel…

Thanks for the reminder about the meal plans and Mamavation journals. That is the best advice I received. This time around if I am not a Mamavation Mom I will be finding some journals to mirror for my own jumpstart. Yes, I think the MILI contenders have a jump on the Finalists… we are so busy getting support and not spending all that time sweating. (still fitting in some time for exercise, of coures! )

Keep up your awesome work and thank you for being so real and honest. Yes, some weeks we don’t lose and we don’t need to feel ashamed of it. Just keep moving. Have a great week.

Awe thanks Andrea!! Yes, I need a treadmill 😛

    • Start tracking NOW if you aren’t already – if nothing more than to really look at where you are 🙂 Then you can compare to the Mamavation Mom’s if you aren’t voted in as one 🙂 Let me know if I can EVER help with that 🙂

  3. Congrats on the treadmill. I know you will put it to good use. That Rock n’ Roll Half won’t know what hit it.

    • Kia, you are WAY more confident than I am about the 1/2 – still working on training the brain that it CAN be done 🙂 the Mental battles are the hardest for me 🙂

  4. Yay for the treadmill! Also, that quote is hysterical <3

  5. You ROCK! (Just reminding you, in case you forgot!) So proud of you half marathon goals. I’ve got my eye on one in January or February.

  6. Happy you got a treadmill. You will love your new toy, even if it means exercise. I love mine, I just need to find where the kids put my ipod. lol Love the quote a friend sent me that a few months ago and I’ve kept it. Can’t wait to see who ends up doing the MILI challenge and how this week goes for the Moms. I’ll be looking forward to your “daily” journal.

  7. Shelley got a treadmill!!!!!!! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh! “This is a key point because the Hubs has been known to buy and sell like crazy on Craig’s List and Garage Sales, so it’s kind of a running joke… but we’re serious…” no pun intended, right? 🙂

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the quote. I’m totally stealing it. (If that’s okay…)
