#Mamavation Monday – Knockout The Fat Weight loss – Week 7

How did it get to be Monday again?  I swear the weeks are flying by!

This week was a good one.  I was getting frustrated with my weight loss efforts and had to take some time to re-evaluate where I was.  After 6 Weeks with the George Foreman Knock out the Fat weight loss challenge, I had only lost 3.5 lbs… and while that might be a good run rate for some, I felt like I was working harder than that so it frustrated me.  And, when I get frustrated… I quit.  AND I’m not a quitter, so I had to take another look at what was going on.

Weight loss math is simple…

Calories in – Calories out = weight loss/gain

Right?  Eat less, move more, lose weight… or the reverse is true, but let’s stay focused m’kay?

So I know my schedule.  I know that fitting in MORE exercise is not necessarily possible.  I know that I’m doing workouts that are compact and effective (HELLLLOOOO Gruntstyle workouts) and I feel it both during and after the actual workout so that’s a good thing.  That means that I had to really look at my meal plan and exchanges.  I realized that my meal plan and calories for the day is higher than when I was a Mamavation mom, but I’m doing less exercise.  So, I tweaked my plan with Alysa’s help and adjusted accordingly.

And it was simple.  Seriously simple.  And I don’t feel like I’m on a “diet” and I don’t feel deprived.  AND…

I lost 2.5 lbs this week.  WOOO HOOO!

BMI – 35.4

So, if you are looking at scale numbers that don’t seem to go anywhere… or are going in the wrong direction… take a look at what you are doing and see where small changes can equal big results.  In my case, we cut 200 calories a day and took those by way of omitting 1 veg, 1 fruit and 1 lean meat at lunch.  not a HUGE change at all and something that I can TOTALLY live with.  For more info on what I’m eating this week, Check out my Meal plan for the week.

It’s not always easy to ask for help, but that is exactly the reason I’m part of the Mamavation Sistahood.  There is always someone there to help.

And Speaking of the Mamavation Sistaood – Tonight on , we get to meet the fantastic women who have put themselves out there and are applying for Campaign 9.  I can not WAIT to meet them and hear what they have to say about why they want this bootcamp and what they think they will gain (lose) from the experience.

Tonight’s Mamavation TV is sponsored by EatSmart Scales and can I just say that they have been instrumental in making sure I’m not eating too much of the good food 🙂  Portion Control has always been something that I struggle with and having a food scale is so important!

The prompt this week is

How have you recently stepped up to support someone in your life?

and that really got me thinking.  I don’t know that I always know when I’m helping support someone – either online or in real life.  My hope is that by making my journey as public as it’s been, that someone is inspired.  I try to remain available to anyone who needs my support, and I hope I’ve been approachable.  There are those I’ve taken time to talk with as they travel through the ups and downs of this journey and I hope I was helpful.  I’m not going to name names because they know who they are.

I can’t wait to see you all tonight on Mamavation TV and hope you’ll join us!

  1. Good job on not giving up! It takes a lot to step back and be honest with yourself about what is really going on, and you did it! Way to go and congratulations on the loss!

  2. Look at you!! Smaller you that is! Congrats on that scale moving down. Keep up the effort with your meal plan!

  3. Now that I have gestational diabetes because of my pain level my food intake has seriously been adjusted to eat more and better than I had been…hence my weight loss that is making my OB upset. I’m pretty sure I have plenty of extra weight to go around and baby boy is enjoying the better food choices, lol. Too bad I can’t work on the calories burned part…I’d be rockin!
