#Mamavation Monday – Camp 7 – Wk 1

 

First things first

Regardless of the outcome tonight I want each and every one of you to know that you are ALL winners in my book!  Each and every one of you have made the decision to change your lives and I for one support you in that!

Something that wasn’t mentioned much this campaign was the need for a Fit Friend.  This was discussed a LOT during my last campaign and I really believe it is an important KEY to better health and fitness.  What is a Fit Friend?  Well, I am glad you asked

A Fit Friend is someone already living a healthy lifestyle that you can check in with to ensure that you are staying on track.  It’s another form of accountability.  It’s someone who can kick you in the pants when you need it and can offer suggestions when you are stuck.  It’s the person that helps you get through the rough times when you don’t FEEL like eating healthy and don’t feel like working out because they’ve already been in your shoes and didn’t give up.

So, I encourage EACH AND EVERY one of you  if you are TRULY serious about changing your life for the better —  to enlist a Fit Friend, make a plan, and keep moving forward.  That’s not to say that the WHOLE sistahood isn’t supporting you and your goals  but it’s easy to hide from a big group –  NOT so easy to hide from 1 person 🙂 especially when they are hounding you 🙂

On to other news – .

This week was good, not great, but good.

I started P90X and there are MANY MANY modifications I need – for now!  I know my body is getting stronger each and every day and by the end of the 90 days I’m gonna be ROCKIN’ it!

I did NOT do any running – it’s been wet, cold, yucky weather here in central Texas and I just can not seem to get off my duff to get out there in it.  Looking at the forecast tells me it will be a much better week for that because Mr. Sun should be making an appearance MOST days this week.  Cold, I can handle (keep in mind that here, cold is like 45 degrees –  not like -9 people) –  cold and wet  NOT SO MUCH!  Hubs is a Craig’s List King and is scouting it constantly for a treadmill because he’s tired of listening to me complain about how I need to run but… blah blah blah… some girls want jewelry and chocolates, I want a treadmill… (and jewelry of course, let’s not get CRAZY here)

I ate TONS of protein this week and followed the nutrition plan fairly closely –  there were a few strays but all in all, it was a good eating week.

What does all of that mean?

Well, for me it means I’ve lost again! 2 LBS!!!!  WOO HOO!  I won’t get a shout-out since there’s no Mamavation TV tonight, so could you just go ahead and leave me a shout out below mmkay? 😉

Good luck to all of the finalists!  I know that whoever is selected will make a GREAT Mamavation Mom and I look forward to working closely with you as your mentor.  I’m also SUPER excited to see who wins the MILI challenge so get to work ladies!!!

  2. congrats on the weight loss and thank you for the support to all of us you are still an inspiration, I have one friend of mine who is like a fit friend i’ve started working out with her twice a week but thats only when im at her house. since dad passed we watch tv in the family room and my workout stuff is in the sunroom

  4. Way to go with your 2 lb loss! You must be really working it. I like your idea of having a “fit friend.” We have a lot of strong women among us and you are such an inspiration! Keep it up.

    I hear you about the cold and wet… that is OR sunshine, but it is hard to get myself, let alone the two kiddos all bundled up and out the door. I am hoping that a dry day comes my way. Until then I need to become better friends with my treadmill and the Wii.

    You never fail to amaze me with your perseverance. Despite all that you are still losing and sticking with the P90x. You go girl!

    I agree with the fit friend, I need one who will hold me accountable. Someone who’s voice I can hear in my head when I’m about to pull into a fast food drive thru,lol.
