Before reading any further in this post you need to know that there are a few actors who no matter WHAT they are in, I will want to see it…
- Johnny Depp
- Daniel Day Lewis
- Robert Downey Jr.
Seriously, they could read me pages from a phone book and I’d shell out the $13 dollars (without popcorn) to sit in a crowded theater and drool (extra napkins please)
I preface this post with that information because it *might* color my opinion of the latest installment of the Iron Man movies…
I was looking forward to this movie from the moment I began seeing previews – Mentally calculating if opening weekend was one that I would have the boys. Â You know, so I could be the cool mom and take them to see it… yeah – THAT’S why I wanted to go… uh huh…
When I was given the opportunity to attend the pre-screening, I was on cloud nine!
The movie itself – definitely some cheese. Â That’s not a bad thing, but if you are expecting a profound movie that will change the world, this probably isn’t it. If you are looking to escape from reality and be entertained however, jump on board – this movie will do the trick!
There are some great one-liners in this movie and there was lots of laughter from the whole audience.
There is some predictability in the movie – but I bet you could have predicted that… there are still enough parts that come out of left field to keep you on your toes.
As you might expect, this moving trots along at a fairly quick pace and keeps you engaged. Â That’s really what I want out of a movie – distract me – take my mind off of real world crap and entertain me.
I know a lot of people – at least people around me – were complaining about the 3D being distracting… I get that…. but movies like this I actually enjoy in 3D, so I guess it’s a matter of perception.
In all honesty, I preferred The Avengers but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy Iron Man3 and I enjoyed it considerably more than Iron Man 2.
What about you? Â Do you have certain actors that you will pay to see no matter what they are in?
