Counting your blessings

Yesterday was Halloween and I was surrounded by creative costumes and sugar induced hyperactivity.  Although I was without my own offspring, I was blessed to help wrangle three more of my favorite littles as I crashed the family outing of Food Good Laundry Bad

They love me.  Whatever.

Especially Super-Demon.  I know what you are saying… that doesn’t look very demonish… Yeah… that’s how they get you…

They look all sweet and innocent… until you don’t give them what they want and then it might as well be a scene out of the exorcist…

Don’t believe me?  This Demon Toddler even has her own facebook fan page full of gems…

She IS a cutie though… and knows it.

As we participated in the Trunk or Treat event, I was able to share the goodness that is Unreal Candy and it was met with wild approval – from adults and kids alike… which just goes to show that when you make a candy with REAL ingredients, real people will like it.

And now? October is over… November has begun.

It is time to start thinking about the holiday season which is, like it or not, upon us.

My Facebook page is full of people who are dreading the season…

And I get it… Family obligations, cooking, baking, weather that BEGS you to cuddle up and enjoy a movie or book or the company of someone important to you…

I feel fortunate that Thanksgiving doesn’t bring out my anxiety.  Dad does the cooking… friends and loved ones join us for the weekend.  The boys will be with their dad this year which means I get them for Christmas morning.

If I can say one thing to you about the holiday season, take care of you.  Take a few minutes every day to focus on you.  Take a few deep breaths and remember what we should focus on… here’s a hint – it’s NOT the pile of dishes you are going to have to clean.  It’s not the “must have” toy that the kids will be clamoring for.  It’s supposed to be a time when we – for at least one day… one month.. one moment count our blessings.

During this month of Thanksgiving, I want to hear from you as you count your blessings.  Share your Post or simply add a comment.  I’d love to hear from you!
