I don’t really have that much to report for last week, but figured I’d better at least share the few tidbits I do have in the interest of accountability. Andplusalso, if there’s anyone else on this fabulous journey to a healthier me, feel free to share in the comments below!  I want to know what challenges you are facing or what victories (scale and non scale) we should be celebrating.
Last week was yet another whirlwind of kiddos and schedules and it was quite a blur to be honest. But, I did set out some goals for myself last week…
- Find my freakin fitbit… I know it’s somewhere
- Track steps, aiming for 10K
- 100oz water per day
- Workout 4 times this week
So…. I found my Fitbit! Â (Yay!!!) Â Which also told me I missed my goal of 10K steps a day… (Boo)… I drank my water every day (Yay!!) But only got to the gym 3 times instead of four… (boo)
You win some you lose some, right? Â This week I’m already on track for better numbers except for the steps. Â It’s been a week of meetings so lots of sitting but I think I can remedy my step counts the remainder of the week. Â I’ve already been to the gym twice this week and can get 2 more in for sure so that’s a goal I can definitely hit… I’m also working up some “routines” I can do at home that utilize body weight… things like planks and yes folks, even those dreaded burpees that I will ONLY do behind closed doors because it’s not pretty.
What are my goals for this week? Â Well, since I missed half of last week’s I’m gonna keep them around a bit longer. Â No sense discarding a goal that I haven’t achieved, right?
This week the scale didn’t move much… only down 1.8 lbs.
As I typed that, I’m reminded of something I read a while back… the author is unknown but if you have any insight, please share. Â I’d love to credit where credit is due…
Only One Pound
Hello, do you know me? If you don’t you should. I’m a pound of fat, and I’m the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet. Want to know why? It’s because no one ever wants to lose me; I’m Only One Pound, just a pound. Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds, but never only one, so I just stick around and happily keep you fat. Then I add to myself ever so slyly so that you never seem to notice it, that is until I’ve grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds in weight.
Yes, it’s fun being Only One Pound of fat, left to do as I please. So, when you weigh in, keep right on
saying “Oh, I only lost one pound.” ( as if that were such a terrible thing!) For you see, if you do this you’ll encourage others to keep me around because they will think I’m not worth losing. And I love being around you – your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you. Happy Days!!After all, I’m Only One Pound of fat!!!”
Now, that said, where did those almost two pounds come from? Â All over really but mostly from my waist which I’m not complaining about at all.
No recipe to share this week … mostly because I didn’t take any pics or come up with anything particularly creative. Â Maybe next week I’ll have more to report.
Congrats on finding the fitbit and drinking the water. I need to improve my water intake! Celebrate the wins!
Love you!
🙂
Traci
Love you Traci!
Two weeks in to the ketogenic diet….google it. Low carbs, high fat, high protein…similar to Atkins. I do, however, miss my carbs (baked taters, bread, etc…)
Using Myfitnesspal App is a God send!
Under calorie goal for 13 out of 14 days….
Weight dropped since start: 6 pounds.
Goal: 15 more…..that would have me looking good.
You are not alone in this battle…and Burpees SUCK!
My carbs are definitely limited and I have googled keto. Keep it up though 🙂 someday I’ll only have 15 more to go 😉
I don’t think burpees are pretty no matter where you do them. 🙂
Good goals and good for you! I’m considering a FitBit. I had a different device, a BodyMedia Fit, which I liked, but I got tired of wearing it on my upper arm. It kept getting in the way of some shirts/sweaters and getting uncomfortable. The FitBit on the wrist might be better, though… I don’t mind bracelets, and I figure I can take it off while I’m at my desk and typing. So, we’ll see.
Me? I’m back on WW, being very strict and careful for a month. The running has become routine, but I really need to work on portions and choices.
I have the fitbit one and I clasp it to my bra. Don’t even know I’m wearing it plus I can clip it to my nightie and it monitors my sleep patterns. It’s more expensive but I won’t wear the bracelets so it works for me!
