Mamavation Monday – Week 6 – Feb 20, 2011

Confession – I’d love to tell you that I kicked butt and took names… I’d love to tell you that but I can’t … because I didn’t. While my eating was on track, I totally slacked on my fitness. I only got in about 1/3 of what I had planned and for NO reason other than Io had a BAD case of the I-don’t-wanna’s… No excuses! This is RIDICULOUS! I’m not going to dwell on the past week and all of the mistakes I made… instead I am focusing on what I AM doing to change it.

So tonight (I’m writing my post on Sunday) I popped back in my EA Sports active and did a 30 minute workout. Sunday is normally a rest day, but if I’m honest with myself, I had a FEW rest days already so I hadn’t exactly EARNED a rest day today. Plus I was on my computer a LOT today and needed to get some exercise in. After that, I packed up my lunch for tomorrow and my breakfast. I figure the best way to have a good week is to have one good decision follow another so I’m going to start my week off RIGHT!
I’m really lucky the scale didn’t move this week – honestly I’m SHOCKED I didn’t gain… lack of exercise, Aunt flo this weekend, I thought for SURE it would have been ugly so I honestly did breath a sigh of relief when I saw this:

no change *sigh*

But I’m tired of being tired. It’s time to go back to what I KNOW works. So starting Monday, I’ll be posting daily to bookieboo with my fitness and step counts. Bear with me on that because I need the accountability it gave me. I’m going back to the fitness routine that I was given as a Mamavation Mom because I KNOW it works. I’m putting myself back in bootcamp and WILL be able to report a loss next week! I’m super proud of how far I’ve come – 26 lbs with Mamavation but that’s not enough. I still have another 74 to go and I’m going to tackle those 1 pound at a time!

Tonight is Mamavation TV with Tracey Mallett (@TraceyMallett) and Alysa Bajenaru, RD (@InspiredRD) is sponsored by FitStudio and a question was posed:

Question: What motivates you to get going and what keeps you going?

and as you can tell from the beginning of this post, I’ve been ignoring motivation lately.  But that doesn’t mean I don’t know what it is! What motivates me is a dress I have hanging in my entry way reminding me where I want to get. I’ve let bad weather and a case of the blah’s get in my way but I’m in control and I’m changing my attitude! Spring will be here before I know it and that Dress is CALLING my name! What keeps me going is the way I feel when I’m doing the right things. I feel so much better when I’m eating right and exerciseing and that keeps me going -PLUS the scale and measuring tape reflect positive changes as well, so that keeps me going. It’s time. Enough is enough. no more excuses it’s TIME!

  1. You so totally rock. I love your posts, love your honesty, and love that you are getting yourself back on rack. 26 pounds is an awesome accomplishment. take each pound as it comes. you can do THIS!
    FISTPUMPS!

  2. I want you to know that you are a great motivator even when you aren’t feeling it. Way to go on good eating. I wish U had a special outfit to motivate me, but right now I’m lucky to find things that fit. Good luck fitting in the workout time this week.

  3. Last week is done and a new week is beginning! I love the idea of one good decision following another! You can do this! If you need someone to poke you, just let me know. 🙂

  4. I always love your attitude! Tomorrow has past, but you are already looking forward and that is awesome. Where do you post on bookieboo? Is there a place for us to log our steps and sweat minutes daily? It would be awesome accountability.

Have a great week. I know you can do it!

  5. The week is over and done and there isn’t a darn thing you can do about last week. BUT you’ve taken leaps and bounds to get this week off to a kick booty start. GO YOU!
You must have been doing something right if you were granted your monthly gift and DIDN’T gain.
This is your week. We’re here to love and support you every step of the way! Just like you do for us.

  6. “Oh Shelley, you know you want to put me on and look sexy for your hubby.”

Oh yes, the dress that rocks the hanger while we steadfastly move our butts, enabling us to wear it again.

I love it. I actually have one of those too… but it’s going to be a WHILE before I get back into mine.

I’m glad you’re kicking the excuses butt and getting back on the band wagon… Holler any time you need it on FB or Twitter. 😉

  7. Go kick some butts and take numbers! Show no mercy! You can do this Shelley! That dress is calling your name and I want to see you in it! You are in the right mindset right now keep telling yourself what you need to do. Now go, go, go!

  8. a good dress is great motivation. I had bought a dress over a year ago, got down to be comfortable wearing the fitted dress and now could totally see that being motivation again. I loved how every told me I looked so great in it and want that again!

Sometimes we all have those weeks when we just dont have the motivation to do so much…we just gotta realize it like you are and get back to moving! I know I have gone through that several times! Keep recognizing what needs to be done and keep trying to get it done. You can do it!!!

  9. GOOD FOR YOU!!! That’s the awesome thing about all the tools you received as a Mamavation Mom – you can pull them out anytime and kick yourself in the behind. So proud of you for recognizing the shortcomings of last week and what you need to fix. You rock!
