Yesterday I talked a bit about my time at MomCom Austin and mentioned that one of the speakers spoke of Happies and Crappies. {I’m not 100% sure that those are spelled correctly but what the heck. They are kinda made up words ANYWAY…}
So, today starts a new segment for us to share…
I could share my OWN happies and crappies but instead I’m going to share some of what you might have missed around the interwebz. That’s right folks, I’m scouring the net so you don’t have to!
Happies
999 EYES FREAKSHOW – The 999 EYES FREAKSHOW celebrates genetic diversity by showcasing amazing feats by fabulous freaks. The show is complete with an attractive backdrop of original hand-painted sideshow banners, a circus band, and an authentic traveling dime museum – instantly transforming any venue into a carnival. This vaudevillian-style extravaganza displays the notion that abnormality is something to be celebrated, not abominated. Now in its 6th year, the 999 EYES FREAKSHOW& SURREAL SIDESHOW has been selling out shows all over the country to open-minded audiences of all persuasions and demographics. Do not miss this show!
(A) How is this the first I’m hearing about something so WONDERFUL? (B) I’m going REGARDLESS but if you want to win a set of tickets for either their Austin or San Antonio Show, Go check out my friend Courtney who is giving away TICKETS to the 999 Eyes Freakshow and Surreal Sideshow and (C) HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS BEFORE NOW? Seriously…
Alter Eco – Have you heard of a company called Alter Eco? I’m UBER excited to be working with them on a project within the next few weeks so you will want to stick around for that. Fo Sho. There may even be some giveaways attached… just sayin… And who wouldn’t want to work with them? They have received the Non-GMO Project third party verification for their entire line of products. “Committed to using only non-GMO ingredients since our very first product in 2005, Alter Eco has always been a strong advocate against GMOs and is in full support of the Non-GMO Project.”
Haven’t heard about them? Hop on over and check out their selection of Quinoa, Rice, Sugar or Chocolate and then stay tuned for more info here..
Over at Dances with Chaos, I was reminded just how precious time with our children is… especially when it’s a gorgeous day at the park and there are NO TIME OUTS!
Funny how we can find joy in the simplest of things.
My friend Megan – photog-extraordinaire over at Mean Baby is doing something I find AMAZEBALLS. Seriously. She is currently training for her first ever triathlon as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, she will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. Won’t you consider making a donation?
Crappies
Don’t you hate when the people who provide YOU a service that YOU pay for forget what customer service is really about? That’s what happened to my BFF Evin over at Food Good Laundry Bad… with her Garbage Nightmare. Seriously, I can’t make this stuff up y’all.
This HAS to go in the ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS category… And I’m not bagging on people who have had weight loss surgery but this? This is cray cray. The gist – Eat whatever you want… as much as you want… wait 20 minutes and this pump will “evacuate” your stomach contents. Way to teach responsibility for you actions… Although since the creator of the Segway inventor Dean Kamen, is one of those behind this, I guess I’m not surprised. I mean after all, the Segway had to be created because walking is just too hard… right? If this patent does go though, I’m gonna bet that no one currently in the dating pool will go this route. Can you imagine? you are on a first date when all of a sudden the 20 minutes has passed… “Excuse me – this is all very interesting but I have to go evacuate my stomach contents” or on the 3rd date… the “sex date” in some circles… “Hey – whats that THING on your stomach?” “Oh that? That’s where I evacuate my stomach contents” Sexy…
