Carrying on with this whole gratitude thing again this week. I know there will come a week when finding things to be thankful for could be a challenge but I also know that there is something to be grateful for in every situation…even the pain in the ass situations… even if only in hindsight.
This week, I’m challenging you to join me. Even if you only have one thing to be thankful for, add it to the comments or write a whole blog post and share that!
As for me… I have lots to be thankful for
I’m thankful for:
- Family game night with my kiddos.
- A Bestie who understands my crazy and gives me advice… even when I opt to ignore said advice and do nothing except bitch to her.
- Another Bestie who has stuck with me since the days of sequins and blue eye shadow. Yes there ARE people who can put up with my shit for longer than 5 years who aren’t required to by law.
- Grilled cheese sandwiches and Sherlock.
- Patience… my own as well as those who are patient with me.
- Peanut butter M&Ms.
- Coworkers who make me laugh so hard I cry.
- Friends who traveled across the pond to visit me. Ok, so they were coming for other reasons but there’s a fun nail polish night in my future so it works.
- Warmish Weather that allows me to wear my flops.
- People who tell you EXACTLY how they feel so you aren’t left guessing where you stand.
- Intellectual Humor.
- My unofficial big brother’s (Bestie in Law? whatever… he knows who he is) new blog. It’s awesome and you should totally check it out! Unless you are squeamish… or easily offended… then you should stay away… but everyone else? You should check it out because aliens need sex toys too
- Date nights.
- Hugs.
What about you? What are YOU thankful for??? Come on… ONE thing minimum. Share it below.
Stop lurking and leave a bit o’ blog love!
I am thankful for:
my husband who still adores his bride after 15 years of marriage
our daughter who is a most utterly brilliantly talented, intelligent, and charming child…mainly because she is the product of my aforementioned husband
the over-the-top homecoming we receive from our dogs whether we’ve been gone days or minutes
a supportive extended family
amazing friends
Oreos and coffee
and countless other things
I love your gratitude list. 🙂
Oreo and coffee? Together?!? Interesting!!
Thank you for sharing your gratitude list with me 🙂
-Dinner and gossip with girlfriends.
-Chicken fried things.
-Nail polish.
-Feeling anticipation because good plans are on the horizon.
-A husband who lets me drag him around looking at nail polish, eating my native comfort foods, and gossiping with my girlfriends.
And paints your nails. Don’t forget that 😉
Can’t wait to see you wednesday
Date nights
Catching up with good friends
Checking out new things and new places
My sweet girl who is so excited to see us the morning after a night out- “Mom, you’re back!”
Cool mornings so I can still wear my sweaters
Growing confidence
Happy Thursday Shelley!
I don’t know if you know this, but I’m thankful for you. And your thankful list. It makes me smile and smiling is good.
I love your daughter’s reaction to your return and more importantly that you and hubby still enjoy date nights.
The cool mornings are bittersweet because while it allows us to wear our sweaters, it doesn’t exactly allow for my flops.and we all know how much I love my flops… so I’m wearing them anyway!
The flip flops balance out the sweater as the day wears on. It’s science.
