This morning started out rough… in typical Monday fashion, we woke up late… went to pick up the Giant’s prescriptions that weren’t ready and are out of stock… picked up my coffee and discovered it was WRONG… after I left and was on the way to work… got an email that pushed all KINDS of buttons for me… but then? Then I got an email that turned it all around.
You see, I entered the giveaway over at ATX Food News for an entry to the Fit Foodie 5K… AND WON!!! Which is HELLA awesome if I do say so myself! I’m super stoked but don’t fret – you could join us and use code ATXFOODNEWS for 50% off race registration!
It’s ironic timing because I just had a conversation with Giant about how I needed his help to get back on a training schedule. Not for anything in particular except for the happy endorphins that I get when I’m actually doing more with my days than sitting around watching Mad Men…
But I digress…
Not familiar with the Fit Foodie Race Weekend?
The upcoming Cooking Light & Health’s The Fit Foodie 5K Weekend brings together folks with a love for great foods, and a eye toward living fit. This three day event is rolling into Austin June 12 – 14, and is a fantastic way to kick off a summer of being health conscious while still indulging in satisfying sips and nibbles. Friday night revs up the action with a VIP Cocktail party. Foodies, get ready to mingle with the likes of Anna Bullett, Cooking Light‘s Executive Chef, Thomas Leverett of Del Sol Martial Arts & Fitness, and Chef Harold Marmulstein of Salty Sow. In addition to mouthwatering food and bevies, there will be giveaways galore. The Finisher’s Village is your gateway to not only post-race refueling, but sampling offerings from restaurants, culinary demos, wine and beer tastings, fitness demos, giveaways and more. Truly one of a kind event, this is not your ordinary 5K! To ease tired muscles, Sunday morning is Yoga & Pure Barre, in the park, followed by Cooking Light & Health inspired brunch. Really, a race can’t get much better than this.
Seriously? It DOESN’T get better than this… unless you joined me… because I’m hella socially awkward and I like to have my people around. And TRUST Me… when I say I’ll be running… I REALLY mean walking/jogging… so you don’t have to worry about being left in my dust.
And few things motivate me to run except for good food and good drinks and good company… so… with amazing sponsors like @FitFoodieRun, @Cooking_Light, and @GoodHealth, and race tips from the Fit Foodie Facebook page, how can you go wrong?
Anyone already registered? Not in the Austin area? Check out the other locations and events! I hope to see you there… and if you register, Don’t forget to use the promo code for 1/2 off your race! {ATXFOODNEWS} and then pop over and say Hey to Kay for making that possible!
