Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired.”
– George S. Patton, U.S. Army General, 1912 Olympian
DUDE!  I honestly do not know what I was thinking… but I’m not backing out now!  I have agreed to join my dear friend Lori over at My Kinda Rain in the San Antonio Half Marathon… November 13, 2011… That’s right folks – THIS NOVEMBER!  I’m Totally Freaking out!  SERIOUSLY! but I know with the support of all of you and my twitter family, I can do this.
I’m scared, excited, nervous, proud, happy, and every other feeling you could possible have all rolled into one.
I’m also saving up for a treadmill because let’s face it – Texas Summer Heat and outdoor running scare me even more!
So along the way – I may need a few reminders that I CAN do this!  I WILL do this!  I am STRONG and Capable!…
I’d love any tips you have for you seasoned runners… I’m quite literally JUST starting out, so nothing is too basic.
You can do this and you should be very proud of yourself for signing up. I’m no where near a half marathon yet but I can’t wait until I can do this. We’ll be here to root for you and cheer you on while you prepare and cross the finish line.
Thanks! That means a LOT!
I am scared too but we can and we will do this! Rock on mama!
I’m so glad that we are doing this together! somehow it makes it less scary… well, a little less scary!
