On Fools…

It seemed appropriate that it was raining as I made my way into work this morning.  April Showers and all…

20140401-090352.jpgSadly there is a feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach that the rest of today will also be accurate and the fools will be plentiful…

There is a difference between being foolish and being a fool… or maybe it’s just semantics. Foolish conjures images of being silly… tickle wars and play time… dancing in the rain and looking for 4 leaf clovers…

Being a fool… less fun.  More idiotic.  Like the moron who sees that the lane is merging and speeds up just enough that you have to make a choice between side-swiping his hoopty and slowing down to let him in.  but I digress…

I’ve never really been a fan of the “Practical Joke”. They seem neither practical or jokes…  Don’t get me wrong – I like funny.  I like to tell and hear jokes.  I’m a fan of puns. Laughter is something that I try to fill my life and the lives of those around me with.

I’m NOT a fan of finding humor at someone else’s expense.  I don’t like to be made fun of and don’t enjoy doing the same to others… I believe that there’s a bit of truth behind every “just kidding.” Kinda like the things we say when we are drunk or tired or both are really the truth because we don’t have the energy or wherewithal to keep up our masks.

I don’t think that scaring someone is funny.  I don’t see the humor in a girl telling a guy she’s pregnant or a guy breaking up with a girl as a joke. I would be pissed if someone saran wrapped the toilet seat… quite literally… Not amused if when I went out to go to work someone had wrapped my car in aluminum foil and God help the person who thinks it’s a GOOD idea to replace all the delicious cream filling in Oreo’s with toothpaste.  Seriously.  Special. Place. In. Hell.

Today I’m having a hard time finding my words… the chaos in the brain is overwhelming so rather than share something more incoherent, I’ll leave you with the words of people far smarter than I.

  1. I tried to prank Miss SP this morning and tell her school was cancelled. It went over like a lead balloon. 😉

  2. I wanted to do something funny to prank Phee. But then I remembered she’s 4 and I’m no good at this stuff. So, we’ll just be our normal silly selves and that will be good enough. Because really, this day is ridiculous.
